Nicholas Michael Sahno Sr., 40, of Hamilton, a previous offender, has been sentenced in Jefferson County to 10 years in prison for drug offenses, court records show.
Sahno pleaded guilty on Nov. 21 to second-degree drug trafficking, a class B felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor. Jefferson County Div. 5 Circuit Judge Victor Melenbrink sentenced him that day to 10 years in prison for the felony charge and 10 days in jail for the misdemeanor, according to court documents.
Sahno was arrested Dec. 9, 2021, after the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office got a call about a suspicious person near the intersection of Konert Road and Konert View Drive in unincorporated Fenton. When deputies arrived, they found Sahno, who was wanted for a parole violation, the probable-cause statement in the case said.
When Sahno was arrested, a deputy found him with a mint container filled with 45 capsules containing a white powdery substance, a bag with 23 capsules that also contained a white powdery substance and another bag with 26 more capsules filled with a white powdery substance, the report said.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Lindsay E. Whalen handled the case.
Sahno pleaded guilty to previous drug charges in 2004 in St. Louis County and in 2005 in Jefferson County. He also had served 14 years in prison for burglary, domestic assault, forgery, driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, stealing a motor vehicle, theft and tampering, court papers said.
Sahno currently is in the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
