A few hours after a man heard what sounded like a gunshot near his home in the 3900 block of Birch Drive in Imperial, he discovered a .40-caliber bullet in his bathroom. No one was struck by the shot, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The homeowner said he heard the gunshot at about 2:30 a.m. July 5, but he didn’t hear any other noises and went back to sleep. At about 10:40 a.m. the same day, he went to the bathroom, saw a bullet hole in his ceiling and found the projectile behind a curtain, the report said.
As of July 6, the Sheriff’s Office has not identified the person who fired the shot, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
