The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shot fired at a home in the 1300 block of Brickyard Road in the Hillsboro area, where a man was sleeping at the time. The round entered the home through a window in his bedroom and traveled through an interior wall but did not strike him, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victim said he woke at about 5 a.m. Dec. 27 to the sound of a gunshot outside. He heard a vehicle with a loud exhaust outside but by the time he got up and looked out a window, no vehicle was there, the report said.
It appeared the gunshot was fired from the direction of Brickyard Road, according to the report.
The Sheriff’s Office canvassed the area, but as of Dec. 29, no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
