Three guns, an unknown amount of ammunition and gold and silver coins were stolen from a home in the 2100 block of Lake Park Trail south of De Soto. The items were valued at $7,000, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Between about 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 1, someone forced open the back door and stole the items. The victim also said when he returned home, his front screen door was partially open and the power to his home had been turned off, the report said.
A .40-caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic gun, a double-barrel Mossberg shotgun, a Mossberg hunting rifle and ammunition were stolen, and a container filled with the coins was missing, too, the report said.
As of Dec. 14, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
