Three guns, ammunition, cash and other items recently were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked outside a home on Tiara Drive in Imperial. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. May 21 and 3 p.m. May 22, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Stolen items included a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 semiautomatic 9mm rifle with three 33-round magazines; a Henry AR-7 semiautomatic .22-caliber rifle and a 10-round magazine; a Browning Buck Mark .22-caliber handgun; 1,650 rounds of ammunition; $500 in $1 bills; and a variety of military-style surplus gear and equipment. In all, the items were valued at $2,500, the report said.
None of the stolen items had been recovered as of June 2. There were no suspects or arrests either, said Lt. Gary Higginbotham of the Sheriff’s Office. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
