A gun, jewelry and other items, altogether valued at $13,900, were stolen during a burglary at a home in the 8000 block of White Oak Trail in the Hillsboro-area. The burglary occurred between about 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. May 17, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
It looked like someone got into the house through an unsecured side door. Stolen items included a Ruger .22-caliber handgun, a woman’s wedding rings, a woman’s anniversary ring, a digital camera and money.
As of June 4, none of the stolen items had been recovered and no arrests had been made, Sgt. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
