A flat-bed truck, a trailer, several lawn mowers and other lawn equipment recently were stolen from General Lawn Care in the 4900 block of Sean Drive in the Arnold area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The burglary was reported just before 6 a.m. Oct. 19, after the victim got a call from St. Louis Metropolitan Police that they had recovered the truck, which had been set on fire, the report said.
The victim said after he got the call, he went to his business and found that someone had forced open the main door, caused some damage to the building and stole the white 2008 Ford F350 flatbed truck and other items, according to the report.
None of the other stolen items were recovered, and they included a 16-foot utility trailer; two Ferris 52-inch mowers; four Troy-Bilt lawn mowers; seven RedMax weed trimmers, six RedMax backpack leaf blowers; five Garmin GPS devices; two RedMax hedge trimmers; an Ingersoll air-impact wrench; a 150-piece socket set; a Troy-Bilt power washer; a Tanaka backpack leaf blower; a large black and yellow toolbox filled with hand tools; a Porter-Cable circular saw and a DeWalt air compressor, the report said.
In all, the pickup and other stolen items were valued at $44,860, according to the report.
As of Tuesday (Oct. 20), there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sherriff’s Office.
