Festus Police are investigating vandalism at Shropshire Park, where someone set off fireworks inside a restroom there, causing damage. Police discovered the damage at about 9:40 p.m. June 28, at the small park off South Fourth Street, Chief Tim Lewis said today.
“There was damage to a toilet paper dispenser and in a stall,” he said. “Officers were already on their way there to lock up the bathroom for the night.”
He said Monday (July 1) that he did not have an estimate for the repairs. Anyone with information is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
