Fire damages car on Hwy. 141 in Arnold

Rock Community Fire Protection District firefighters cut a hole in the hood of a 2010 Honda to extinguish a fire that started in the car when the driver was turning west onto Hwy. 141 from southbound Jeffco Boulevard, spokeswoman Alyson Rotter said.

Rock Fire was called at 7:53 p.m. Jan. 17 about the fire, and firefighters arrived at 7:57 p.m. The fire was under control at 8:01 p.m., and the scene was cleared at 8:20 p.m., Rotter said.

The Arnold Police reported a 35-year-old Waterloo, Ill., woman was driving the car. She was not injured.

On Jan. 22, Rotter said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
