A car that was stolen in Arnold was later found in the parking lot of the Pevely Pointe apartments on Pevely Pointe Drive. The car was stolen on April 28 and was recovered at about 2 p.m. May 1, Pevely Police Capt. Larry Miller said.

He said a Pevely Police officer spotted the car, which had graffiti painted on it, at the apartment complex.

“His attention was drawn to a gray car parked on the lot because it had been vandalized with spray paint,” Miller said. “The vehicle turned out to have been stolen.”

Miller said he had no additional details about the theft of the car, a 2016 Nissan Altima, other than it was valued at about $10,000.

He said the owner, a 43-year-old Festus woman, was contacted and the car was returned to her.

As of Monday (May 4), no arrests had been made, Miller said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Pevely Police at 636-475-4498.
