Festus Police are investigating a report that a woman allegedly stabbed a man during a domestic dispute on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, Chief Tim Lewis said.
He said the alleged victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and was not transported for additional medical care.
Festus Police got a call at approximately 3:50 p.m. about the stabbing, which occurred in the 800 block of Cleveland Avenue.
“We made contact with a 65-year-old Festus woman and a 63-year-old Festus man,” Lewis said. “Allegedly, the woman stabbed the man in the shoulder with a knife. She was taken into custody. It was a small knife, some kind of kitchen knife.
“He was treated by JPAD (Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District). The extent of his injuries are not known. He was not taken for further treatment.”
The suspect was released pending application for warrants, Lewis said.
