Festus Police are investigating the recent theft of a trailer from along the 900 block of North Fifth Street. The white 2006 cargo trailer was valued at $3,000, Chief Tim Lewis said.
The owner discovered the trailer missing Dec. 22, but officers determined the theft occurred Dec. 20, Chief Tim Lewis said.
“Officers did a canvass, and a camera showed the trailer had been stolen Dec. 20 about 11 p.m. The officers saw (the incident) on a security system from a nearby home,” Lewis said. “The trailer was outside the building.”
The owner uses the trailer for his business, but the site where the trailer had been left is not at the owner’s business, Lewis said.
As of Jan. 3, the trailer had not been recovered and no arrests had been made, he said.
Anyone with information is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
