Festus Police are investigating thefts from at least two vehicles while the victims were exercising at Fitness N.O.W, 405 W. Main St. The culprit broke windows to get inside the vehicles, Capt. Doug Wendel said.
He said the thefts were reported about 5:30 p.m. Nov. 15.
“The victims discovered it when they saw their vehicles,” Wendel said. “Items stolen include a gym bag, a wallet and a purse.”
He said he did not have an estimate for how much the items were worth.
As of Nov. 22, none of the stolen items had been recovered and no arrests had been made.
Wendel advises people against leaving items of value in their vehicles.
“Don’t leave valuables in your car in plain view,” he said.
Anyone with information about the vehicle break-ins is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
