He also allegedly tried to steal a stereo from one of the vans, according to the report.
On Dec. 7, the man was spotted standing along Jeffco Boulevard and Lonedell Road in Arnold attempting to sell tools. The woman was with him, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
Arnold Police learned the man was wanted in De Soto on outstanding warrants, so he was taken into custody. In addition, the woman allegedly was found with a wallet with someone else’s ID inside, and those items had previously been reported stolen, Jones said.
Once the woman was in custody, police allegedly found her with a white powdery substance hidden inside her bra. She also allegedly was found with drug paraphernalia, Jones said.
During the investigation, police learned that while the man was trying to sell tools along the road, he allegedly walked into a nearby home but when someone spotted him, he left, Jones said.
He said police also learned during the investigation that at about 3:45 a.m. Dec. 2, the man allegedly removed a change dispenser from a cash register at the Circle K, 2046 Key West Drive, in Arnold and fled in a van. The dispenser contained about $59 in change, the report said.
In addition, at about 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 2, the man allegedly entered a detached garage in the 1800 block of South Arlene Drive and tried to leave with two leaf blowers, but when neighbors spotted him, he dropped the equipment and fled, according to the report.
The man was booked and then turned over to De Soto Police. Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for burglary, stealing, property damage and a variety of traffic violations, Jones said.
The woman was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results from drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against her through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of stolen property, as well as possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, Jones said.
