A 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both of Festus, were arrested for allegedly stealing tools from an Arnold home. The theft happened Feb. 5 at a home on Clara Drive, and the pair was arrested Feb. 25, Arnold Police reported.

The pair knew the victim, and while they were visiting someone at the home, the Festus man allegedly was caught breaking into a trailer there. Then, the victims found that about $1,100 in tools had been stolen, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

Arnold Police identified the suspects and listed them as wanted, and Festus Police picked them up. Arnold Police took them into custody at about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 25, booked them and released them pending application for warrants, Jones said.

He said Arnold Police are seeking felony stealing charges against the pair through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
