A 55-year-old man returned from a trip to his home in the 100 block of Twin City Drive in Festus to find his 2006 Toyota Solara missing. The victim reported the theft at 4 a.m. Aug. 21, Police Chief Tim Lewis said.
Lewis said he didn’t know how long the victim had been out of town before reporting the theft.
“He said he had a spare key in the house. The spare key was gone and the car was gone when he got back from a trip to Florida,” Lewis said. “He did not report a break-in of the house.”
Lewis said he didn’t have an estimated value for the car. As of Aug. 25, it had not recovered, Lewis said.
