A 37-year-old Festus man was taken to the hospital after he reportedly was stabbed in the chest during an argument at an apartment in the 1500 block of Westvale Drive in Festus. A 23-year-old Festus woman allegedly stabbed the man, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.
The man was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, Lewis said.
The incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. April 22, when the man and woman were arguing. The man said he did not know why the woman reportedly stabbed him, Lewis said.
The woman had bruises that indicated she had been in an altercation with the man, and she was treated at the scene, Lewis said.
He said neither the man nor woman was arrested, but Festus Police will forward the report to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possible assault charges.
