Festus Police are investigating the recent theft of a catalytic converter from a truck parked at APB Storage, 1370 Shapiro Drive. The truck belonged to the company, Chief Doug Wendel said.
He said the theft happened about 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, and was caught on video camera.
“It was a catalytic converter removed from a 2023 Ford moving truck,” he said. “(The business) reported it (on Aug. 19).”
Wendel said the surveillance footage showed a white SUV in the driveway and one suspect.
He said the damage to the truck was estimated at $750.
Wendel said it was the first report of catalytic converter theft for a while, following a rash of those kinds of thefts.
Anyone with information is asked to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
