A 25-year-old Fenton woman was arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of drugs and paraphernalia during a traffic stop. Arnold Police stopped the 2014 Kia Sorento she was driving because the tail lights were not working, Arnold Police reported.
Officers pulled over the woman at about 11:40 a.m. April 17 near the Phillips 66 gas station, 501 Jeffco Blvd. The woman told the officers there was a bag in the SUV that didn’t belong to her, the report said.
A police dog indicated there could be illegal drugs in the SUV, and officers searched the bag and allegedly found a used syringe with residue from a red liquid and five capsules with white powder inside, according to the report.
The officers also allegedly found a capsule that contained white powder in the woman’s purse and a bag with a green-leafy substance believed to be marijuana in the center console, Arnold Police reported.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
