woman in handcuffs

A 44-year-old Fenton woman was arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The woman was arrested during a traffic stop near the Circle K gas station, 2046 Key West Drive, Arnold Police reported.

The woman was driving a 1999 Lexus at 8:07 p.m. Nov. 2, when she was stopped because the license plates on the car were registered to a Volkswagen. The woman told the officer she did not have any illegal substances in her car, but a police dog alerted the officer to the possible presence of narcotics, the report said.

An officer searched the car and allegedly found a backpack with a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth and a glass smoking pipe. The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending application for warrants, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.
