A 26-year-old Fenton man recently was arrested for alleged unlawful possession of a gun after causing a disturbance at the Steak ‘n Shake in the Arnold Crossroads development. The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 4, an Arnold Police report said.
“He didn’t like his service and was screaming at people, and then he left, but he came back again,” Detective Lt. James Jones said. By the time officers arrived, though, the man was gone, but officers found him nearby, at the Dunkin’ Donuts, 900 Jeffco Blvd., Jones said.
The man appeared “extremely intoxicated,” and he allegedly was found with a concealed firearm, Jones said.
The man had prior convictions and wasn’t supposed to have a gun. In addition, he was wanted on outstanding warrants, the report said.
He was taken into custody and booked and, after saying he “was contemplating suicide,” he was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County for evaluation, Jones said.
Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for unlawful possession of a weapon, Jones said.
