A 32-year-old Fenton man was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine during a second encounter with Arnold Police. The man previously had ridden a motorcycle away from Arnold Police officers, authorities reported.
Arnold Police officers first saw the man at about 3 p.m. June 9 on Jeffco Boulevard near Michigan Avenue trying to start a 2003 Honda motorcycle. Officers stopped to see if the man needed help and spotted wires hanging from the motorcycle. When the man noticed the police cruiser, he got on the bike and rode away, the report said.
At about 6:15 p.m., the officers saw the man and the motorcycle again outside the Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., and the man did not flee. The man reportedly kept reaching into his pocket, and when officers searched him, they allegedly found a pipe containing a substance believed to be meth and a bag containing a substance that appeared to be meth, according to the report.
In addition, the man had a suspended driver’s license, according to the report.
The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
