A 28-year-old Fenton man was arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. The man was arrested after he allegedly failed to signal when he turned from Church Road into the Arnold Commons shopping plaza, Arnold Police reported.
At about 9:15 p.m. Feb. 23, the man, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, was stopped in the Lowe’s parking lot, 920 Arnold Commons Drive. He acted nervous when officers approached him, and he appeared to be under the influence of an illegal drug, the report said.
A police dog alerted the officers to the possible presence of drugs in the SUV, and officers searched the Tahoe and allegedly found a cooler that contained a glass pipe with a crystal-like substance inside it and another glass pipe with residue, according to the report.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
