Jessy Thompson, 37, of the Fenton area has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography. He admitted to searching for, downloading, possessing and distributing child pornography during an April 2023 interview, according to court documents.
Jefferson County Div. 5 Circuit Judge Joseph Melenbrink sentenced Thompson on Jan. 20. Thompson pleaded guilty to the charge in October, court records show.
Court documents also said Thompson was ordered to enter a 120-day treatment program, and he may be eligible for probation if he completes the program.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Michele Whitehead prosecuted the case.
According to the probable-cause statement filed by the St. Louis County Police, a National Center for Missing & Exploited Children tip said Thompson was using a Reddit social media account to upload child porn.
A cell phone was seized, and investigators discovered five videos and 117 images of child pornography on the device, the report said.
