A 27-year-old Fenton man was arrested for allegedly stealing a pickup from outside an Arnold bank. The 2005 Dodge Ram was recovered a short time later at an apartment complex in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, Arnold Police reported.
At about 3:30 p.m. June 16, Arnold Police were called to the Century Credit Union, 3920 Jeffco Blvd., after the pickup was stolen. The owner told police he had left the pickup running when he went inside the bank to make a deposit, the report said.
The man’s business phone was in the pickup, and officers used the phone’s GPS to locate the pickup on Fiedler Lane. The pickup was parked near the last apartment complex on the dead-end street, and the keys and phone were still inside the truck, according to the report.
Officers found the man at the complex, identifying him as the man seen on the bank’s surveillance video stealing the pickup, the report said.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Maj. Clinton Wooldridge said Arnold Police will seek a stealing charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
