Arnold Police reported that a 40-year-old Farmington severely cut his own arm while apparently trying to slash the tire on his girlfriend’s 2020 Chevrolet Trax outside the WoodSpring Suites hotel, 888 Arnold Commons Drive. The girlfriend, a 37-year-old Festus woman, told police she and her boyfriend had been arguing and he has a history of slashing her tires when they argue, the report said.
Arnold Police and Rock Township Ambulance District personnel were called to the hotel at about 9:35 p.m. May 16 after the man cut his upper left forearm with a pocketknife. He was taken by Rock Township to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
Because the man did not damage the tire, he was not arrested and no charges will be sought against him, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
