Eureka Police are investigating the fraudulent withdrawal of $4,000 from a 66-year-old Wildwood man’s account at Lindell Bank, 219 Thresher Drive. Somone used a debit transaction ticket and showed an ID while making the withdrawal, police reported.
The man reported the theft on July 15. The withdrawal occurred at about 2:30 p.m. July 8, the report said.
A woman’s name is on the debit transaction ticket. The name is not connected to the bank account, according to the report.
As of July 25, none of the money had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Capt. Michael Werges said. He said the detective bureau is reviewing surveillance video from the bank, and he asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
