crime investigation

Eureka Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly broke the driver-side’s front window on a car parked outside a home in the 600 block of Grand View Ridge Court. The damage occurred the night of July 11, and the victim contacted police at 7:30 a.m. July 12 after discovering the damage to the 2004 Honda Accord, the report said.

When police arrived, they found scrape marks near the top of the rear window and there were fireworks on the ground, along with broken glass from the front window, according to the report.

Eureka Police Lt. David Wilson said the fireworks didn’t appear powerful enough to shatter the glass, so it’s unknown what the culprit used to break the window. The damage is estimated at $300, the report said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
