An underage driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after being pulled over at about 2:30 a.m. May 17 for failing to stop at a sign, Eureka Police reported.

A 20-year-old Eureka man was driving a 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse and allegedly didn’t stop at a stop sign at Legends Parkway and Legends View Drive. After being pulled over, the man allegedly showed signs of being intoxicated, the report said.

The man allegedly told police he had drunk four beers, and he refused to take a field sobriety test or provide a breath sample, according to the report.

He was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was issued a citation to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for failure to stop and DWI. He was released to a sober a driver, Capt. David Wilson said.
