Arnold Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole an electric bicycle after taking it for a test ride from the Trek Bicycle Arnold shop, 2166 Michigan Ave. The Trek Power Fly FS9 was valued at $6,499.99, police reported.

An employee, a 48-year-old Arnold man, called the police at about 3 p.m. Aug. 10 when the suspect did not return from the test ride. The employee said the man rode behind the store, and he did not see what direction the man went after that, the report said.

The employee said the man had a thin build and either dark brown or black hair. He said the man had facial hair, and he was wearing a black shirt and black pants, according to the report.

As of Aug. 14, the bicycle had not been recovered, and the suspect had not been identified or arrested, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the stolen bicycle to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
