Eureka Police arrested a 37-year-old Dupo, Ill., woman for allegedly shattering a picture frame in a hotel room at the Holiday Inn Saint Louis West at Six Flags, 4901 Six Flags Road. The cost to replace the frame is approximately $150, police reported.

Officers were called at about 10:10 a.m. Nov. 2 to the hotel by a security officer. The security officer had checked on a room because of a noise complaint, and he saw the broken picture frame in the room, the report said.

A man, who was staying in the room, told police the woman was intoxicated and angry. He showed the officers a video that allegedly showed the woman breaking the picture frame, according to the report.

The woman allegedly told the officers she was angry because she was hungry and no one would get her food. She said she didn’t mean to break the picture frame and only kicked the wall, the report said.

However, the video the man showed police allegedly showed her ripping the picture frame off the wall, according to the report.

The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released, the report said.

Eureka Police issued the woman a summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged property damage, Capt. Michael Werges said.
