Arnold Police are investigating 12 vehicle break-ins, as well as thefts from five of those vehicles. All the vehicles were parked outside city businesses when they were broken into, police reported.

The break-ins and thefts occurred between 9:15 p.m. and 11 p.m. Jan. 20 outside the 54th Street Grill and Bar restaurant, 2236 Michigan Ave.; Arnold Bowl, 1140 Jeffco Blvd.; and Syberg’s restaurant, 249 Arnold Crossroads Center. The damage to the vehicles was estimated at $3,800, and the items stolen from the vehicles were valued at a combined $3,845, authorities reported.

At about 9:15 p.m., the passenger-side window was shattered on a 2016 Ford F-150 outside the 54th Street Grill and Bar. The victim works at the restaurant and said a Louis Vuitton purse, an Apple iPod, a backpack, an unknown amount of cash and various credit cards were stolen from the pickup. The damage to the pickup was estimated at $250, and altogether the stolen items were worth about $1,930, the report said.

Officers were called to Arnold Bowl at about 10:45 p.m. after windows were smashed on 10 vehicles parked there, including a 2015 Ford F-150, 2022 NMC Rambler, 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, 2017 Lexus NK2, 2010 Dodge Ram, 2019 Hyundai Tucson and two 2018 Dodge Rams. The person was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a mask and gloves, and the Malibu did not appear to have license plates, Arnold Police reported.

The Malibu was seen on surveillance video a short time later at the Drury Inn, 3800 Hwy. 141, which is near Syberg’s. While there, a person got out of the car and appeared to attempt to get into a Chevrolet Silverado, but couldn’t and got back into the Malibu, which drove away, the report said.
