The cause of a fire at a Dittmer home is being investigated. The fire happened Sunday morning (March 8) at a home in the 100 block of Shore Acres Drive that appeared to be vacant, said Greg Shuster, assistant chief with the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District.
He said the fire left the home uninhabitable.
Crews were dispatched to the fire at 9:57 a.m. and arrived on the scene at 10:09 a.m. The fire was under control by 11:15 a.m., and crews were on the scene until 12:16 p.m., Shuster said.
He said Monday the cause of fire state was undetermined. He also said firefighters had not determined where in the home the fire had started.
The Hillsboro, De Soto Rural, High Ridge and St. Clair fire protection districts and the Big River Ambulance District helped with the call.
