Arnold Police recently arrested a 27-year-old Desloge woman for alleged possession of methamphetamine. The woman was arrested outside the Quality Inn hotel, 3610 West Outer Road, after an officer allegedly saw her involved in what he suspected was a drug transaction, police reported.
The officer was called to the hotel at about 10:10 p.m. June 1 for an unrelated call about someone wanted on a warrant who reportedly was at the hotel. When the officer pulled into the parking lot, he saw a woman quickly walk away from a silver sedan, get into a 2011 Chevrolet Cruz, and then both cars drove away, the report said.
The officer stopped the Cruz before it left the parking lot. The woman allegedly admitted she had tried to buy fentanyl from the driver of the sedan. Then, before the officer had his police dog inspect the outside of the Cruz, the woman allegedly told him she had methamphetamine in the car. It is not known if she purchased the meth from the driver of the other car the officer saw pull away from the alleged drug transaction, according to the report.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
