A 55-year-old Fenton woman’s purse and wallet, together worth an estimated $1,400, were stolen from a car parked outside Once Upon A Child, 1231 Water Tower Place, in Arnold. The theft happened between 2-2:30 p.m. April 12, when someone removed a window from the car to get inside it, Arnold Police reported.
The victim works at the store, which sells gently used baby and children clothes, toys, equipment and furniture. Co-workers noticed the damage to her car and notified her about it, the report said.
The frame was pried away from the window of the 2018 Alfa Romeo, allowing the culprit to remove the window. The damage to the car was estimated at $2,500, according to the report.
A Dooney & Burke purse valued at $450 and a Louis Vuitton wallet valued at $950 were stolen. As of Monday (April 22), neither the purse nor the wallet had been recovered and there were no suspects, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
