Arnold Police are trying to identify a man and woman suspected of breaking into a De Soto woman’s SUV outside the Schnucks store, 1253 Water Tower Place, stealing a purse from the SUV and using one of the woman’s credit cards. The alleged theft happened at about 2 p.m. June 16, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
The victim, a 26-year-old De Soto woman, told police her 2011 Chevrolet Suburban parked outside the grocery store was broken into, and her Michael Kors purse was stolen from the SUV. A passenger-side window on the SUV was shattered, causing an estimated $400 in damage. The purse was valued at $300, the report said.
One of the victim’s credits cards was used at the Diebergs grocery store, 860 Arnold Commons Drive. Video surveillance showed a black man and woman allegedly using the card to charge $205.95. Someone tried to use the credit card again at a gas station in Festus, but the card was declined, according to the report.
The female suspect was described as having blonde hair with a short-cropped haircut. No distinctive features were reported for the male suspect. As of June 18, police had not identified the pair, and the purse had not been recovered, Wooldridge said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
