A 31-year-old De Soto woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of 2008 Subaru Forester SUV from outside Mac’s Auto Sales, 4401 Jeffco Blvd., south of Arnold. The SUV belonged to a representative from the business, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victim said he last saw the Forester at approximately 8 p.m. on Aug. 30, when he walked inside the business to sort paperwork. When he went back outside at about 10 p.m., he found his SUV missing. He also said he believes he dropped the keys to the SUV on the ground and the suspect picked them up and stole the vehicle, the report said.
The Forester, which was valued at $2,760, was recovered Sept. 2 in the 9000 block of South Broadway Boulevard by St. Louis County Police. The vehicle was returned to the owner on Sept. 3, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
He said Sheriff’s Office detectives questioned the suspect about other cases they believe “are tied to her.”
The woman was arrested and released pending application for warrants, Bissell said Sept. 6.
