De Soto Police arrested a 23-year-old Festus woman in the early morning hours of Nov. 11 in connection with the theft of an SUV.
At about 3:30 a.m., officers reported seeing suspicious activity on the De Soto Walmart parking lot at 12862 Hwy. 21 and found a woman there sitting in a 1997 white GMC Jimmy, Capt. Mike McMunn said.
“When we ran the plate information, it came back as a stolen vehicle,” he said.
McMunn said the vehicle was stolen from unincorporated Jefferson County.
De Soto Police arrested the woman and transported her to the De Soto Jail, where she was released pending the application for warrants, he said.
The vehicle was towed to Shank’s Auto and Truck Service and eventually will be returned to its owner, McMunn said.
