De Soto Police arrested a 51-year-old Festus man for alleged possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 7). The man was a passenger in a white Cadillac that an officer pulled over on Fletcher Street near Seventh Street in De Soto for a license plate violation, Chief Rick Draper said.
Two De Soto women, one 31 years old and the other 30 years old, also were in the car. The driver, the 31-year-old, gave the officer permission to search the car, and the officer “located a glass pipe and spoon which field-tested positive for a controlled substance” near the man, he said.
Both items will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Laboratory for analysis, and depending on results from drug analysis, De Soto Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Draper said.
