A 39-year-old De Soto man was arrested for alleged possession of a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Police allegedly found the meth in a container hanging around the man’s neck, Arnold Police reported.
Arnold Police got a call at 2:02 p.m. April 26 about the man, who appeared to be unconscious in a 1998 Dodge Stratus parked between the McDonald’s restaurant and Circle K gas station at 2001 Richardson Road. When officers arrived, they found the man in the car with the engine running, the report said.
After officers woke the man, they allegedly discovered a silver, screw-top container connected to a necklace the man was wearing that contained what looked like meth. He was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked, according to the report.
The man previously had been convicted five times for driving with a revoked license, and he was wanted in Festus on outstanding warrants for driving with a suspended license, the report said.
Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of meth, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
