A 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both of the De Soto area, recently were arrested for alleged possession of a methamphetamine lab, said Cpl. Chris Hoffman, commander of the Jefferson County Municipal Enforcement Group Drug Task Force.
He said the task force received tips about possible drug activity at the couple’s home in the 500 block of Glory Trail, and at about 8 p.m. Aug. 13, the two were arrested there.
Hoffman said the couple allegedly possessed chemicals commonly used to make meth, as well as a controlled substance believed to be meth and drug paraphernalia.
He said three male children, between the ages of 10 and 13, were found at the home and were turned over to Children’s Division.
The man and woman were booked and then released pending the application for warrants, Hoffman said.
He said charges will be sought against the man and woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of chemicals with the intent to make meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.
As of today (Sept. 3), no charges had been filed, Hoffman said.
