Shawn Aaron LaFollette, 48, of the De Soto area has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to two felony charges for molesting a young girl over an eight-to-nine-year period, according to court records.
On Oct. 22, Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Mark T. Stoll sentenced LaFollette to 15 years for first-degree statutory sodomy-deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years old and seven years for second-degree statutory sodomy. The sentences will be served concurrently, or at the same time, court records said.
LaFollette engaged in various types of sexual contact with the girl, who was 7 or 8 when the abuse began, the probable-cause statement said.
The victim told authorities that LaFollette molested her on approximately 15 occasions since 2014, the report said.
LaFollette confessed to molesting the girl, saying the molestation happened more than 10 times, the report said.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Shannon O'Neal handled the case.
LaFollette currently is in the Eastern Reception and Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
