Pevely Police are investigating a theft from a storage unit at Pevely Storage, 8378 Commercial Boulevard. It looked like someone damaged several other units at the business, but nothing had been reported from them, Capt. Larry Miller said Tuesday (March 24).

He said a maintenance worker for the business discovered the burglary and reported it at about 5:10 p.m. Sunday (March 15).

“Officers arrived to find approximately 17 lockers had been either damaged, locks cut off or the hasp the lock hooked onto had been cut,” Miller said. “At this time, one victim has reported damage to a safe worth $100 and 500 rounds of .45 caliber ammunition worth $200 missing.”

The victim is a 64-year-old Pevely man, Miller said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Pevely Police at 636-475-5301.
