A 37-year-old Crystal City man, who died from an apparent suicide, was found hanging from a bridge that crosses Plattin Creek in Crystal City on Oct. 13.
At 12:39 p.m., Crystal City Police got a call about a possible suicide near Crystal Avenue, Police Chief Chad Helms said.
“Upon arrival to the area, officers found a deceased male subject hanging from the underside of the bridge,” he reported.
Later, officers learned that a person close to the family had found the victim and contacted police, Helms said.
Police processed the scene and the victim’s body was turned over to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation, Helms said.
“At this time there is no foul play suspected; however, we are conducting a full investigation,” he said.
Helms offered his condolences to the man’s family.
“It is a very tragic incident and we feel for the victim’s family during this time of loss,” Helms said.
