A counterfeit $20 bill allegedly was used at the Schnucks store, 3900 Vogel Road, in Arnold. The fake bill was used between about 12:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10, Arnold Police reported.
Officers were called to the supermarket at about 9 p.m. after store personnel discovered the fake bill had been passed in one of the checkout lanes, the report said.
The case was turned over to the U.S. Secret Service, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said. He said Arnold Police had not received other recent reports of counterfeit bills being used in the city.
