The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of copper and copper wire from a building in the 4000 block of Jeffco Boulevard south of Arnold. The stolen copper was valued at about $17,500, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Copper plumbing was stolen from an HVAC system and copper wiring was removed from the building that previously housed a business. The building’s owner told deputies everything was in place on July 1, but he discovered the copper material was missing July 2, the report said.

As of July 7, none of the copper material had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
