Eureka Police are investigating the theft of a concrete chop saw from a pickup that was parked in the 200 block of North Central Avenue. The theft occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 18, Capt. David Wilson said.
A 35-year-old Union man told police he was doing concrete work near the pickup all day and didn’t notice anyone going near his 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. However, he noticed the saw was gone at about 1 p.m., police reported.
The saw is a Stihl concrete chop saw, worth $400. There is purple paint on the handle, a crack on top of the blade shield and it does not have a muffler, the report said.
As of Sept. 26, there were no suspects and the saw had not been recovered, Wilson said.
