Festus Police are investigating a break-in at a laundry room in the Festus Gardens Apartments off South Mill Street. An undetermined amount of change was stolen from coin-operated machines inside the laundry room, Chief Tim Lewis said.
Surveillance footage showed the incident happened about 4:30 a.m. Oct. 30.
“Watching the video, an unknown suspect took the hinges off the door to the laundry room and took change from the machines,” Lewis said. “The amount is unknown.”
He said the suspect is believed to be a man and was wearing a blue hoodie with white stripes, jeans and a camouflage hat.
“You cannot see his face from the video,” Lewis said.
As of Nov. 8, none of the money had been recovered and no arrests had been made, he said. Anyone with information is asked to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
