The tip of a 43-year-old Eureka woman’s finger was cut off when it became trapped between the chair’s seat and metal base at a Subway restaurant, 177 Eureka Towne Center Drive, Eureka Police reported.
The accident occurred at 1:11 p.m. July 20, when the woman attempted to move her chair closer to a table, the report said. Capt. David Wilson said he did not know which finger and which hand were injured.
Police found the lacerated tip and placed it in a bag of ice. The woman was transported by Eureka Fire Protection District ambulance to St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, a physical therapy clinic in Wildwood, the report said.
Wilson said he did not know if the fingertip was able to be reattached.
