Chadd E. Windmueller, 24, who lives south of Eureka, has been charged for allegedly assaulting another man at the JP’s Sports Bar and Grill, 95 Hilltop Village Center Drive, in Eureka, according to court documents.
The St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Aug. 7 charged Windmueller with second-degree assault, a class D felony punishable by up to seven years in prison, court documents show.
Eureka Police Lt. Brett Grittini reported Windmueller turned himself into authorities on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Windmueller and another man on Aug. 2 started arguing in the sports bar. As the two walked toward a door to leave the bar, Windmueller allegedly punched the other man in the back of the head.
The alleged victim fell face first, and he was unconscious for two to three minutes. A man, who resembled witnesses’ description of Windmueller, was allegedly seen in surveillance video running toward the man who was hit from behind, the report said.
